The mission of the Total Health Care Center for Emotional and Social Health (CESH) is to improve the health and quality of life for all, regardless of ability to pay. The vision of Total Health Care CESH is to be recognized in the industry as a successful community-responsive organization, expert in the provision of primary and mental health care.

Total Health Care’s CESH program provides comprehensive mental health services to adults, children, and families in Baltimore. The services are geared to individuals whose needs can be met in an outpatient setting. The patients’ needs may be chronic in nature but stabilized enough to be managed in a community setting. More complex mental health needs include those requiring hospitalization, are not treated in the Mental Health Clinic.
Total Health Care’s CESH program provides both psychotherapeutic and psychiatric services. Psychotherapeutic services include individual, couples, and family therapy; crisis management; psychosocial assessment; psychological evaluation and educational testing. Psychiatric services include evaluation and medication management.
The actual work occurs within the quality of the relationship between the psychotherapist and the patient. The psychotherapists receive ongoing support, training, and supervision from professional staff. The psychotherapists also provide:

Total Health Care’s CESH program serves males and females who range in age from 5 to 99 years. Patients may present problems with fearfulness, unresolved grief, aggression, drug abuse, promiscuity, delinquency, social withdrawal, or any number of behaviors that lead to a cycle of bad choices that make their lives miserable.

The patient’s physician or another social service agency representative may make the referral for services. Also, patients may self-refer by calling the clinic directly or by requesting a referral from their physician.
