Total Health Care Substance Abuse Program is a state certified outpatient treatment facility that provides a six month comprehensive treatment regimen. Inherent within the philosophy of the program is the belief that addiction affects the whole person, i.e., physically, psychologically, socially and spirtually. As a result treatment must be holistic.

Toward this goal Total Health Care, Inc. has developed a multi-disciplinary approach to treatment. Traditional addiction services are enhanced by on-site primary care, mental health, acupuncture, social work, vocational and educational training, housing counseling and childcare services.

Specialized services for HIV positive patients that includes primary care coordination and prevention case management is provided along with gender group and daily NA meetings.

The Baltimore Buprenorphine Initiative

Total Health Care is one of six substance abuse programs providing Buprenorphine Maintenance as part of the city’s Baltimore Buprenorphine Initiative. The Baltimore Buprenorphine Initiative is a collaborative effort of the Baltimore City Health Department, Baltimore Substance Abuse Systems and Baltimore Health Care Access, Inc., and aims to significantly increase access to treatment for opioid addiction. At Total Health Care, clients are inducted and maintained on Buprenorphine while receiving the program’s comprehensive treatment services.

Total Health Care's Substance Abuse Program accepts Medicare, Medicaid, Health Choice MCO plans, most commercial insurance plans and has a sliding fee scale and indigent slots.
